May 8th set for Crosswalk Pedestrian Safety Event

Location: 29th and West River Parkway- signed crosswalk will be

Time 3:30 - 6:30 pm, meet on hour earlier at Brackett Park building, 27th ST. and 39th Ave

Planning Schedule:

Apr 4th Tuesday 7-9 pm Brackett- workgroups/committee meeting
Apr 18th Tuesday 7-9 pm Place to be announced for discussion:  Review - Safewalk St. Paul
May 2nd Tueday 7-9 pm Brackett- final preparation meeting
May 4th Thursday intersection leaders training- site practice run-thru
May 6th and 7th: Flyer given to pedestrians and neighborhood for Monday event

May 8th, Monday 3:30-6:30 pm **** Safety Event ****

Current ideas:  

- Ask for donation of yellow flashing warning lights and /or large warning sign to slow traffic down before intersections each way ( contact Eric Johnson 612 277-4753 special traffic sign company)

- Schedule Mpls speed wagon for three mondays in a row- before, during and after.

- Provide flyer inserts for neighborhood churches on Sunday May 7th

- Attend River Gorge meeting to invite participation/coordination

-. Flyer 2 blocks or more each side of intersection the week before- Brackett Park program

- Invite Seward community participation

- Get event on block club leaders agenda's
